Acute Care Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant

Job Title: Nurse Practitioner – Urgent Care

optimum Care is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Acute Care NP/PA to join our Optimum Care team. The NP/PA will be responsible for providing high-quality, patient-centered care across a variety of clinical settings, working closely with physicians, healthcare teams, and other providers to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

As an integral part of the healthcare team, you will work in collaboration with physicians to manage patient care, assist in diagnosis, provide treatment plans, and educate patients on various aspects of their health.

Some Key Responsibilities:

      • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments including medical histories, physical examinations, and diagnostic testing.

        Develop, implement, and manage treatment plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.

        Prescribe medications, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and provide follow-up care.

        Collaboration:

        Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers to deliver high-quality care.

        Patient Education:

        Educate patients and families regarding health conditions, treatment options, preventive care, and lifestyle modifications.

        Clinical Leadership:

        Assist in mentoring and educating junior staff or medical students as appropriate.

        Participate in the development of clinical protocols and practice guidelines.

        Documentation & Compliance:

        Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of patient interactions, assessments, and treatment plans in the hospital’s electronic medical records system.

        Ensure compliance with all hospital policies, procedures, and healthcare regulations.

        Continuous Learning:

        Stay current with the latest medical research, techniques, and technologies.

        Participate in continuing education and professional development opportunities.

        Qualifications:

        Education:

        Master’s or Doctorate in Nursing Practice (DNP) or Physician Assistant (PA) program from an accredited institution.

        Licensing & Certification:

        Current, unrestricted license to practice as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Physician Assistant (PA) with Acute Care specialty in the state of Oklahoma.

        National certification from an accredited board (e.g., ANCC, NCCPA, AANP).

        Experience:

        Preferred of 2-3 years of clinical experience as an APRN or PA, preferably in a hospital or acute care setting.

        Skills:

        Strong clinical knowledge and decision-making skills.

        Excellent interpersonal, communication, and teamwork abilities.

        Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

        Proficient in using electronic medical records (EMR) and other healthcare technologies.

        Physical Requirements:

        Ability to lift and move patients, and stand for extended periods.

        Ability to work in a high-pressure environment and manage stressful situations.
