STELARA

Injection Therapy

STELARtreats plaque psoriasis, psoriatic arthritis, Crohn’s disease, and ulcerative colitis. STELARA Infusion therapy is available at Optimum Care  Infusion Center.

About STELARA® Infusion Therapy

STELARA is a prescription biologic medication. Unlike some biologics that target specific enzymes or proteins causing inflammation, STELARA targets two naturally occurring proteins in the body, IL-12, and IL-23. These proteins are elevated in patients with autoimmune diseases like IBD, plaque psoriasis, and psoriatic arthritis.

STELARA is the only FDA-approved treatment that specifically targets these proteins.

STELARA® Cost

What to Expect During STELARA® Infusion Therapy

If your provider prescribes STELARA infusion therapy, they will test you for tuberculosis (TB) before starting therapy. The first dose is administered via a single IV infusion administered through a vein in your arm. The medication dosage is tailored to your body weight and is administered by a healthcare professional. The infusion usually takes at least one hour to complete.

Following the initial IV infusion, STELARA is administered as a subcutaneous injection every 8 weeks. You will be monitored for TB and other infections during and after STERLARA infusion therapy.
