SKYRIZI

Infusion Therapy

SKYRIZI infusion therapy treats Crohn’s disease, plaque psoriasis, and psoriatic arthritis in adult patients. SKYRIZI infusion therapy is available at  Optimum Care  Infusion Center.

About SKYRIZI® Infusion Therapy

SKYRIZI infusion therapy is an FDA-approved medication prescribed to treat adults with several types of autoimmune disorders. A SKYRIZI infusion is a type of biologic therapy, meaning it was derived from living organisms. The medication is an immune protein that works similarly to those in your body. It binds to a protein called IL-23 which is thought to contribute to certain types of chronic inflammation.

Conditions Treated by SKYRIZI® Infusion Therapy

SKYRIZI infusion therapy has been approved to treat the following conditions:

While each of these autoimmune diseases results in different symptoms, they are all believed to be at least partially triggered by the overproduction of IL-23 proteins. When SKYRIZI attaches to these proteins, it prevents them from activating cells that trigger inflammation in the gastrointestinal tract, joints, and skin.

SKYRIZI infusion therapy has been shown to be effective at reducing symptoms in patients with these diseases.

SKYRIZI® Cost

The out-of-pocket SKYRIZI cost will vary depending on your insurance coverage. If you have questions about your coverage, contact your insurance provider.

Many patients with commercial insurance qualify for SKYRIZI Complete, a co-pay program that can help cover the out-of-pocket SKYRIZI cost. For more information, visit www.skyrizi.com/signup or contact your referring provider for assistance.

No patient should go without necessary treatment due to financial limitations. If you have questions about your SKYRIZI cost or additional financial assistance opportunities, contact a member of our Optimum Care team.

What to Expect During SKYRIZI® Infusion Therapy

If your provider prescribes SKYRIZI infusion therapy, you will receive 2-3 starter doses (quantity and mode of treatment will depend on your condition) four weeks apart, followed by maintenance doses received via injector pen or pre-filled syringe. You may be able to self-administer your maintenance doses at home after receiving training.

If you are receiving infusions or injections at Optimum Care Center, our team will coordinate your SKYRIZI treatment schedule with your referring provider.

Before starting treatment, your referring provider will require a TB test. Your provider may also require blood tests to check your liver throughout treatment.
